If you would like to double check you are entered or would like to check your race number (when available from the Tuesday evening before the race) you can log in to The Entry Point and access all the information regarding your entry.

Yes, you can can collect the race number of another runner at pre-registration only. To facilitate this, please bring a letter signed by the absent runner authorising you to collect on their behalf. It’s essential that every runner gets the race number assigned to them – do not mix them up! (If you do, the results will be wrong!). So if you’re collecting two or more numbers, write the names of the people they are for on the back as you collect them.

Runners must collect their race numbers in person on race day.

Nobody under the age of 16 will be permitted to take part in the 10k race. This is a condition of our Association of Running Clubs race permit, through which we’re insured.

Unfortunately, due to the largely off road nature of the course and narrow sections of canal towpath, we would discourage running with pushchairs for your safety and the safety of other runners.

Category: 10k Race

Given some narrow sections  of the course and in the interest of the safety of all participants, we regret that we are unable to allow dogs to accompany runners on the course.

There will be no water stop at the 5k point. If you will need water during the run, you’ll need to carry it. There will be water at the finish.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds on entry fees. If you cannot run then we would prefer that you transfer your race number to another person, as we will still have to pay for your number, medal, etc. You can do a transfer yourself up until midnight on the Wednesday before the race by logging in to the The Entry Point website. To avoid messing up the race results, please make sure that all the details of the other person are entered, especially their name, date of birth, club, and gender. If you have any problems or need any assistance with this, please use the Contact Us form to get in touch. If you can’t find anyone to transfer to, or it’s after the Wednesday deadline, we MAY be able to defer your entry to a future race if you’re sick or injured – please use the Contact Us form to find out.

Start zones are not necessary as there will be an ultra wide start line, and all competitors will be very near the front.

Yes, there will be markers at each kilometre.

We are keen to encourage entries from all levels of runner, but this is not a walking event so we expect everyone to finish in 2 hours. If you want to run/walk the course that’s fine! If you are very near the back of the field, please be aware that there is a cross over point where it is possible (but very unlikely) that you may encounter the lead runners at the very front of the race coming very quickly. If this happens, please keep to one side of the path and follow any marshal’s instructions.

Yes, feel free to do so! But please bear in mind that the course is narrow in places, and other runners may need to get past you.

We strongly recommend that you don’t listen to music during the race. This is for your own safety as one part of the course is on a public road. Other parts of the course are narrow in places, and you must be able to hear a runner behind you that is wanting to get past. If you do insist on listening to music, please bone conduction headphones or only use one earphone so you have some awareness of your surroundings and you can hear the instructions of our marshals.

The 10k race is only for people aged 16 and over. No-one is permitted to run in either the 10k race or the 2k race unless they have registered.

Dogs are permitted (on a lead) on Queen’s Parade, but unfortunately they are not permitted in the Rugby Stadium, where the 10k finishes (except for guide dogs). Therefore, dogs are not permitted on the 10k. This is a restriction imposed by the land manager and is out of our control.

Unfortunately it isn’t possible to defer a race entry to the following year unless you are ill or injured. However, you can transfer it to another person. See the transfer FAQ for more details.
