The 2016 course is back for another year, but with a slightly different ending!
2015 was the first ever Rushmoor Wellesley 10k and we weren’t sure how popular it would be. Turns out it was quite popular. So, last year we’ve upped the field from 500 to 1000, introduced chip timing and improved our route to take the increased foot fall. The new course involves much more of the beautiful Wellesley Woodlands and less roads. Apart from the odd bump here and there, it’s a very flat course. Do take care in the woodland sections though, as path can be narrow at times and presents the occasional trip hazard.
We’ve made a couple of tweaks for 2017, which will alleviate the bottleneck onto the canal towards the start. Also, we’ve moved the end of the race from the Athletics Stadium to the Rugby Stadium next door. This means that we can offer better facilities, such as a large increase in the number of toilets available.
The race starts on the polo fields in the same location as the Rushmoor parkrun, carrying out a small loop before heading for the canal. The finish point will be in the Rugby Stadium itself.
