Nobody under the age of 16 will be permitted to take part in the 10k race. This is a condition of our Association of Running Clubs race permit, through which we’re insured.  Anyone under 14 on the 5k must be accompanied by an adult.  The fun run is for age 5 and above, but anyone under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dogs are permitted (on a lead) on the Polo Fields, but unfortunately they are not permitted in the Athletics Stadium where the 5k and 10k events finish (except for guide dogs). This is a restriction imposed by the land manager and is out of our control.  There are also some narrow sections on the 5k and 10k so for safety reasons dogs are not permitted on these events. Dogs are allowed on the fun run on the Polo fields (on a short lead!), but not afterwards in the Athletics Stadium.

Yes, feel free to do so! But please bear in mind that after the Polo Fields the course is narrow in places, and other runners may need to get past you.  There are no narrow sections on the fun run.

The fun run starts about 5 minutes after the 10k race.

The fun run completes a 2k (approximately) lap within the Polo fields, which is also the starting location for the 5k and 10k events. The fun run will follow roughly the same route on the Polo fields as the 10k and the 5k, but will start a few minutes later so it won’t be possible to run with your child if you’re doing those events.  Before reaching the canal, the fun run course does a 180 degree left turn so the fun runners end up running back towards the main entrance to the Polo fields where the finish is located.
